We Aussies are a contrary lot. Usually we will have hot food for Chrissie Eve.. but the tradition has been to go cold fare for Chrissie lunch. Seafood, turkey, pork and always ham with a leafy salad, fruit, cheese platter to follow. Desert can be anything. Many Aussie families bring out an old tradition.. the iconic Pavlova. (inset back)

We are having our neighbours over for tea tonite we are having a traditional roast lamb tea ....and you guessed it a pavlova ..,I still like the traditional plum pudding but we don’t have one this year so it will be most likely a bowl of ice cream with fruit of some sort for us CD as we will be home alone .

We have a leg of ham in the fridge from the famous Barossa valley in SA the BV is a group of small towns in the Adelaide hills , manly German settlers back to WW 2 days, they have lots of German type of food outlets you don’t find in busy cities .

I don’t some foods like German sausages served in a roll with sauerkraut they are welcome to way to spicy for me
the ham is nice tho not to salty for my tastes

I spent a few enjoyable months in Bavaria yeas ago and was fed plenty of traditional German fare such as a variety of sausages, Pork Knuckle or Pork Trotter with sauerkraut and potatoes.. These days I'll eat any pig meat with crackling .Tho I do go easy on cured salted ham...

Looks like I will be here on line at home at 7:00pm on Christmas eve....
I better prepare an early supper as that time is our normal supper time.. We usually have supper around 7:00 to 7:30pm.. We are night owls and not early birds.. We don't get out of bed till almost noon but we don't go to bed till sometime between 3:00and 4:00am...

So, Kate, are you bringing leg of ham? Craig, cheese platter? I know Steve is a chicken cooking fool so maybe he can bring a chicken dish?

Steve, we need some candles so would it be all right if we used your menorah? If it would be offensive, we won't use it.
