    I miss Lon. :(

I bake from-scratch cakes but I never photograph them because I usually bake sheet cakes (no layers) and frost them in the pan. They are definitely NOT pretty cakes. I have a small-batch white cake recipe that makes a 9" square; it's a good size for the 2 of us. I have also perfected buttercream frosting.

I always keep a Pepperidge Farm coconut cake in the freezer; they are really good little cakes and I like to have emergency backup desserts on hand.

We also have cobblers fairly often because they are easy.

You've stayed quite busy I see. I love seeing pictures of pretty food. I use a couple of really old recipe books myself. So you found a good use for the digital camera I see.:D Nothing wrong with that. We are all tired and oldish on here now. :)

Pepperidge is a good cake for a backup. What are sheet cakes? I mostly always do layer cakes, so far. You should break down and snap us a picture when you have time, I am sure everyone would enjoy seeing them. I love cobblers.

Sheet cakes are just single-layer cakes, usually rectangles. I bake mine in a stoneware baking dish, leave the cake in the dish and frost the top. Nothing to see, really.

Sounds great, and there is nothing like getting parts on time.

Oh ok, sorta like the glassware I cooked that cobbler in above, I see. I like seeing them, most of mine aren't pretty but taste good, and that to me is the most important. :)

That's just the way I do a sheet cake. A lot of bakery cakes are sheet cakes because they are single-layer...

Not really. Been at it for 15-20 years. I have lots of photos but there may be several pictures of the same cake, pie, etc. or step by step photos.

Not all my cakes are layered or pretty. I make quite a few sheet cakes as well, and they get slapped on a cake card board; line with foil or waxed paper. Most people don't want to deal with slicing a layered cake. Nor am I a cake decorator neither. I’m not a professional baker. Just lots of practice. I can squeeze out a few icing designs and make swirls on cupcakes. I make deceit looking food and “most” of it tastes good. As I said, photographing food was just a hobby, as it was for most of the people at the food forums, which we posted them to recipes.

My cakes aren't pretty but long as they taste good, I am happy. Love to see photos of food and desserts, and get idea's about cooking different types. Feel free about posting, if you want to, because I will enjoy seeing them and sure others will too. As I cook new desserts I will post them too.
