I would think that SEX would be a hot button topic that doesn't need to drag politically and religiously contaminated thought into it, although I'm probably deluding myself. LOL

The great toilet paper debate has never been solved, or I don't think it has anyway. Should the paper roll from over the top of the roll or from under it or does it really matter to you? One thing that I've heard is that if one has cats that tend to unroll the paper, having the roll so that the paper comes from the bottom solves this problem as cats tend to use their paws to pull and spin the roll rather than push. I don't have a cat but when I envisioned it, it made sense to me.

It is if you're a cat or a dog.

How about how the planet is being destroyed by our use of chemicals.
Is an example of something I just read this past week.

JAMESPORT, NY — Along with facing dangers on Long Island roadways, turtles are also threatened by pesticides used on area lawns, according to Karen Testa, executive director of Turtle Rescue of the Hamptons.
Chemicals used to treat lawns are "taking a toll on the turtle population of Long Island," Testa said, mainly in the form of aural, or ear, abscesses caused by bacterial or viral infections.

I wish there was a site that would give you substitutes or alternatives to
some of the chemicals we use.

I think part of the problem with discussions in a civil manner is the topic of DEFINITIONS. When discussions take place, many times the terms mentioned in the discussion have different meaning to different people. @Beth Gallagher's mention of Feminism would be one example. The term "Feminism" means different things to different people.

I could name a couple of hot button issues that really aren’t until a couple of drinks are included in the conversation and then bingo…hot topic.
College ball and opposing military branches for examples. And then there’s the 6 drink REAL hot topic which combines both college ball and the military. Go ARMY!! Yo mama plays for the Navy!

Beans, definitely. And corn, topped with raw onions, cheese and sour cream.

    Exactly.

It's chili con carne, not chili or carne.

That sounds good. But since hubby took over my kitchen and appointed himself chef, I can't keep sour cream in the fridge ,he uses it for his 3 ingrediant scratch biscuits.
