Well, except for the Panhandle, where winter can really hit. Been there, seen that! Have been watching a rodeo in San Antonio and the rodeo clown and rodeo announcer were bragging last night about the daytime temperatures there. I told my wife, "they'd better watch what they brag about or they'll have a major influx of people moving from winter-type states".
We had a touch of spring yesterday with temps in the 50's. It got up to 60 at 3 AM this morning and in several hours into the 30's as the cold front came through. At least it's sunny.
Nearby town has flooded streets and avalanches are everywhere around. When the snow slides, it can close the roads for hours, or occasionally for days if it is bad enough. I think the state now has avalanche mitigation efforts going big time, and there are notices to stay out of the backcountry for the time being. More snow predicted all next week.
So, you want everyone in the snow/winter states all over America to move to Texas? Forget Florida, Texas is the new "hot spot". And, like I told Beth, the panhandle of Texas has a winter. Can be very heavy snow and freezing temps.
She didn't say anything at any time about anyone "moving to Texas." Stop projecting your own ridiculous opinions on everyone. Neither Hedi nor I live in the damn panhandle, so who cares. And FYI, the entire state of Texas "has a winter." Good grief.
Just like Bobby, you don't understand joking. That's exactly what I was doing. But, I do understand how America thinks Texas is the very best State in America. And, the way you and Hedi sound, none of Texas gets a winter. At least that's the way the posts sound. My opinions aren't ridiculous! At least Ken doesn't think so. He hasn't banned me yet from his forum. Actually, why don't you make a personal request to him that I do get banned? Go for it!!
Have had a week of 10 to 15 degrees above normal temps. IOW, awfully dang nice/warm for the first week of March. But, starting tomorrow, the bottom drops out again and the reality of winter comes back. By this Sunday, we will drop some 27 degrees and more, along with some snow. A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect, starting tomorrow. Next week, still some freezing days and possible more snow. The young generation here will really be pissed, being the fact that we've seen a whole lot of them here wearing shorts. Then again, March is our snowiest month of the winter season. Last year, in March, we wound up with a 30 inch snowstorm/blizzard.
