Weather gurus at the local fox station Baton Rouge have been crying about a rain gulf storm all weekend long and we would be drowning today, not a dang drop here where I live a bit north west of Baton Rouge it all went east. They couldn't forecast the weather if their lives depended on it.
I have been running around duct taping all my shrubs to stop them from budding out. Daffodils are blooming after a week of 70's. Today and tomorrow will be in the 80's. Monday will be in the 30's with snow forecast. Glad I didn't plant the beans.
Blue skies, clouds, but starting to clear up and warm up, I anticipate a nice day, at maybe 60 degrees.
Record warmth yesterday at 91 degrees. Old record was 84. It's 75 at the moment with some humidity and showers expected. Feels like spring and feels good.
Currently 80 degrees and under a severe weather alert at 8:30 p.m. I can hear thunder so the storm is approaching.
According to the weather people, this is the last day with night in Anchorage, so we probably lost it yesterday. It will be twilight all night for a while. I noticed it was daylight last night at 10:30 PM and it was light at 05:30 AM this morning. I guess what passes for summer in Alaska has started, although there is still a lot of snow on the ground. 20 F. this morning, but it is predicted to break 50 F. for a high today, so that should melt a lot of the snow. Bright and sunny...so fire season will start in a few weeks.
About 69 degrees and raining, so it seems colder than it is. I didn't even realize it was supposed to rain today but it's dark and gloomy.
I don't like it that spring just can't make up it's mind. Not quite 'climate change' but cold, hot, wet, gloomy, gloriously sunny...
