It reached 55 F. for a short period yesterday, so the snow is melting fairly rapidly. It stayed above freezing (34 F.) last night as well. The puddles seem to be soaking into the ground, so the earth must not be frozen very deeply due to the deep snow all winter. We still have a lot of snow cover though, and most of the lakes are still frozen, but not solidly enough for vehicles to drive on. It is supposed to get cold tonight and tomorrow with a possibility of more snow and warm up some next week. We'll see. I always dread the arrival of fire season, so I hope things green up rapidly.
Absolutely gorgeous day today... deep blue sky, plenty of sunshine, light breeze and mild temps. Tomorrow there's a 50% chance for more rain.
Cold damp and gloomy. If the precip holds off, and the winds die down, I hope to do some burning this week. I don't use gasoline or anything but I like conditions to be favorable.
Stormy and raining; power has blipped a couple of times. It's so dark outside it looks almost like nighttime. Cooler today, too...about 60 degrees.
Raining here the past couple of days, and all the snow is gone except in the woods, where patches of snow can still be found.
IT'S HERE!!! I declare spring is finally here!!! Daffodils on the way out, Virginia blue bells on the way in. That's it. I won't accept any more winter!
34 F. and off-and-on rain. The snow is finally going and we can see earth for the first time since October or November. It got to 50 yesterday, so it may get that warm again today.
We made 62F today just overcast, windy felt around 50F. Suppose to warm up for the Bank holiday(Monday)
50 F. and sunny. Snow is leaving us rapidly but is still over the knees many places. We sat on the swing on the covered deck today, but the patio is still very much snow-covered.
