Hawaii is pretty much the same all the time, and is why I wouldn't want to live there for long term. San Diego is nice, and Albuquerque, New Mexico brags that it has the nation's most perfect climate. Thankfully, we don't all want the same weather.

Being young at the time, I thought it was so cool to have daylight for long hours in the summer. We had to put foil on our windows in the summer to be able to sleep. Tis' the land of the midnight sun......in the summer anyway.:D

More or less to tag this for my future reference...I found an article on The People of the North on the University of Washington website (not that I'll ever remember it's in a "Positive Thoughts" thread. Thank goodness for "Search.")

Here is the link to Arctic in Context archives of the university's Canadian Studies Center. Some of this focuses on climate change, some of it discusses the human rights of indigenous peoples, some of it discusses regional Canadian politics, some of it discusses the arctic's role on the geopolitical stage. You know, for all of the years I subscribed to Foreign Affairs and The Economist, I don't ever recall the arctic being a topic of conversation. I surmise that the university holds title to the documentary, but can find no direct information on the documentary other than the article I linked. There seems to be no public access to it.

The film I was referring to was done prior to 1997, for that was the last time I was in Barrow (now Utqiagvik). It had nothing to do with global warming or the effects of it on Artic peoples. It was just a documentation of their lifestyle as the Canadian government destroyed it. I have searched in vain for it; perhaps the government is ashamed of what they did to those people, as culture is a bigger thing these days.

As for Positive Points, for the most part I have had a happy and comfortable life so I feel positive much of the time. I have a great husband, wonderful kids, "enough" of material goods, fairly good health (for now) and a few close friends who understand me. I have good eyesight and plenty of books to read. I never have to go to bed hungry or worry about where my next meal is coming from. So far I seem to have all my mental faculties in tact which I also consider a huge positive.

Living in So Cal for over 57 yrs soon, it's been just about Perfect weather for my life, we could use some "regular" rains but it's desert here in the South...One can live here and go to the sunny sandy beach and then drive to the snowy local mountains on the same day.

Now though the politics of all of California Sucks due to radical libs.

Southern California weather is fairly consistent, except for the desert areas, but it has a monsoon season where it rains for weeks straight sometimes, although I read in the newspaper a few days ago that they are now saying this is because of global warming.

I read a few days ago that the drought over much of the country has ended. It said only California's Central Valley and Eastern Washington state are still dry. It was said that even Lake Mead is filling once again, so perhaps Vegas is saved.

I hope so; this summer has been brutal. And how about all the bodies they have found as the water level descended in Lake Mead? Sheesh.

Wonder if those bodies are from the old Las Vegas Mob days? If a person crossed the mob, that person wound up at the bottom of Lake Mead!

My area of So Cal and I live very near the Pacific Ocean, the weather has been very cool actually and maybe 4 days/nights of hot temp, but we have no humidity.
