Oh yes, and I spent many beach vacations when I was 17 and 18 etc and the last time I went to FL it was for a cousin's wedding and in the month of June and when I walked out of the airport, I walked into a steam bath. I've never been back and that was probably 30 yrs ago or more.
I loved the feel of the air departing airports and drives down. I'd hold my hands out of car window and feel that glorious air and just smile. But I do understand some people don't like it. But Florida is not the same now it is no longer the sub-tropical paradise many of us loved of years past.
What is so different now about FL? I know more people have moved there and many from CA due to the political scene....
Mainly to save on taxes and be less controlled by leader's whims. Lockdowns seemed to have killed more people in states that enforced them than here in Florida where there never was a lockdown. But all the extra millions of people moving here are destroying our resources especially waters coastal, river, springs and tributaries. Florida sits on a swamp and can't handle all the urban sprawl and pollution it brings.
There was an ad on the radio this morning about a small PAC who is working WITH the people disenchanted by our political corruption and trying to take our country back for all the good it holds. And it still does. The latinos, blacks, whites, women, men... can all come together with that in mind. I am hoping it takes hold and can grow. I think they are right. We have had enough. Biden is again pushing the UN Small Arms Treaty. He thinks now is the time. I think he is wrong and even minorities are coming on board. UNITED States of America. A Democrat I knew said, Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country. If enough can come together... On top of that, I don't really watch tv lately so I can enjoy our weird cool summer and getting jobs done.
