I try to do no sugar so fruit is mostly out. I don't buy Dr Berg's supplements but follow a lot of his suggestions. I found a potassium citrate supplement that is 250mg per capsule with works great. But don't take them before bed!;)

I try to get most of my vitamin's from food, or now and then for working out high protein drink like Boost. I will drink Braggs Vinegar and couple spoons of pure organic olive oil, but not often enough, so will get back on it today.

You might want to look into a healthier protein drink, @Marie Mallery . Boost is mostly sugar and canola oil, two of the most unhealthy things you can put in your body, and only a little whey protein added.
There are several good protein drinks you can get in either powder or liquid form, like Premier Protein or Body fortress. Be sure to check out the ingredients before you choose one.

You can also get the ones that are a complete meal replacement, and they have more vitamins and minerals than just plain whey protein drinks have.
Both Bobby and I are heavy into supplements, and I know that is not for everyone, so if I am overstepping, please forgive me.
Here is the ingredient list for Boost, and Ensure is just about the same thing. It has 41 grams of carbs, and 20 grams of added sugar, so between the glucose and the sugar, it is loaded with unhealthy carbs and no healthy ones.

    Ingredients in BOOST® Original include
    • Water
    • Glucose syrup
    • Sugar
    • Milk protein concentrate
    • Canola oil
    • Soy protein isolate
    • Vitamins and minerals
    • Natural flavor

Over-stepping, no way Yvonne, thanks you so much for the help and I've been so busy I grabbed the drinks so I could left weights and hopefully build muscle to fight the glucose, but looks like I'd been better off just doing nothing.
I'll sure check out the Premier Protein.

I am having an episode of this ocular migraine today. My dominant eye is so "zig-zaggy" that I can hardly see the laptop screen. I guess I need to lay down and close my eyes for an hour or so.

I subscribed to nutrition and health newsletters starting in the 80s for 2 decades or so (University of California Berkley Wellness Letter and Center for Science in the Public Interest Nutrition Action Health Letter.) When I started supplementing in 1990 I bought a few books on vitamins and supplements, taking/modifying notes as I read each one. I was lucky to have GP for 25 years who I could talk to about this stuff. These days I subscribe to Consumer Labs, which is like a Consumer Reports for herbals, vitamins and supplements.

But as far as "healthcare" (meaning "medical care") is concerned, I rely on the internet (taken with a grain of salt) and forums such at this one. There are a ton of well-informed smart people out there who also share their first-hand experiences with anyone who has an ear to listen. It's more important these days because I think more and more small medical practices are being absorbed by Corporate Care, thus restricting the latitude that their employees (our doctors) have. I will say that my current GP (whose practice has been bought by the regional Corporate Care beast) has mentioned that he's glad the only med I take is a statin. I like the conservative approach.
