Thisles are weeds with thorns/spines on them. There are different types but what I call Canadian thistles, some call bull thistles, are the worst! They can pierce leather gloves and throw the sheep off grazing areas. I can't mow the area and don't want to poison. I have one small area left to do today and hopefully I can move on.
The beans were labeled bush beans so they are already planted. The company is very good to deal with so they probably will give me seed for next year but I hope they pay more attention. This is a late crop because the first planting did not germinate. I will not deal with THAT company again. I told hubby I am getting all the jars and equipment ready now so as to can for as long as it takes this year. Bush and pole beans come ready differently.
I am not set up for hydroponics although weeding time would probably be cut down considerably, right?;)
Do you do a lot of gardening?

Thistles sound like some of our vines here, they have big thorns too. That company should refund you for their mistake. Yes, we garden quite a lot and yes hydroponics does cut out the weeds. With everyday things popping up to be fixed lately gardening was slowed back but want to do some fall crops soon though. Here's a Rutger tomato we grew this summer "wife holding it".

We have that happen in dry years, @Mary Stetler. Magpies are a particular problem.

This reminds me; the other day when discussing armadillos on @Nancy Hart 's thread, I watched a couple of Youtube videos on how to get rid of armadillos digging up a lawn. One moron was thrilled because some poison he used was killing "those nasty earthworms" in the soil. Good grief.

@Ken Anderson , can you see this Photo? Seems to be the only one visible to me now, loaded the same as other photos copied from my library.

Why are the others saying IMG with a little green box? Do I have to load a photo in some special way? If you can pm me about these pictures and looks like that tomato photo is gone now. weird. Don't want to hijack the thread.

Back on the topic will have to reload hydroponic and container photo's when we figure out why they left.

We use the seed starting kits like this one, I really like the pellets. Amazon has these so does most garden centers ,Walmart.

I just sent my granddaughter one of those little kits, so I use Amazon. Yes, Growers Supply is a good place to buy all kinds of garden supplies. We ordered greenhouse covering from there a couple years ago.
