I work in both of those towns. Same horrible traffic on I-35, same crowded stores. Real estate is a bit more reasonable, but not great, AND you still have to deal with "Hell Season," known as "Summer," in the rest of the US. If I leave Austin, I leave Texas.

I built my house in 2004 and the second floor two years later. The bottom built on a pension the second floor when I sold my boat.

One of my daughters lives in Round Rock and the other lives in Georgetown. :D My ex husband lives in Spicewood. I don't know how old their houses are... except younger daughter who has a brand new home.

It's a small world, Bill. I'm so sorry about your daughter's illness.

I hope your daughter is doing OK, and that she is one who continues to successfully deal with this lousy disease.

Ours was built in 1988 by Libby Contractors.

They build all their wall framing with 2x6 lumber, not 2x4. This allows thicker insulation batts.

We had our home built in 2006 that we live in now , before that we had a home in the suburbs of Adelaide in 1988
a year after we got married ,we sold that home in 2004 and went traveling for 2 years ( Australia only ) and living in a 16ft caravan.

Out home is what’s known as brick veneer it’s brick on the outside , Wood framed with gyprock / plaster board lining
