When my mother was a nurse way back in the 60's.. she had a colleague from Texas training under her at the hospital where she worked in Scotland .

My mother showed this lady the sights of western Scotland ..our beautiful Lochs, our beautiful mountains, the lush greenery...and everything she showed this lady my mother got the same response...oh yes very nice but in texas we have sooo much bigger, this or that...

They were at the farm and the field were just being harvested for potatoes, and my mum was talking about the potato harvest and a little bit fed up with the 'bigger and better ' replies...so when the Texan again said in reply to my mums comments about the potato harvest ..''ooh yes but in Texas we grow Potatoes so much bigger''...my mum couldn't help herself but reply...

''yes we're the same in Scotland as Texas, we grow them to fit our mouths''.

lol.(.apologies on behalf of my other to all the texans here..50 years later)..
