That's really strange Ina. Some on here can see the video like I can and others cannot. I shared it on FB if you want to see it...I don't know how to make it appear for y'all on here.
Holly this was one of the parts of the New Orleans levees that fell. The following link shares an article that says the levees have been repaired but will not hold if we have another Katrina like hurricane. http://www.nola.com/futureofneworleans/2015/08/new_levees_inadequate_for_next.html
http://www.katc.com/story/36212938/watch-robs-hurricane-harvey-update-tonight-at-5-6-10 This is the latest from our local News. If you click on the link they show alot more. It seems Hurricane Harvey may be another system that they really don't know what's going to happen...until it happens.
That is about the same thing that is being explained in the video I linked. he showed all of what they call "spaghetti trails" or something like that, which is all of the projected possibilities of which way the storm could go, and what will happen with the one coming up from Florida. You will be inbetween both storms, @Babs Hunt ; so you might have to watch out for both of them. I think that @Gloria Mitchell is down there somewhere, too; but i am not sure just where in Texas she is at; so hopefully she is also in a safe area. The closer the storm gets, the more worrisome the predictions are sounding. Some people must be evacuating; because they are now showing the long lines of people waiting to get gas. I am sure the stores must be out of bread and milk by now, too, and maybe lots of other foods.
"There will be a shelter to give shade from the heat by day, and refuge and protection from the storm and the rain." Isaiah 4:6 "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1 This may be true @Yvonne Smith...but our heavenly Father stands beween me and mine and both of these "storms" and though we are using wisdom and preparing for emergency situations with extra food and water, and batteries, etc. .... we are at peace now because we have prayed God's hedge of protection around our Family and that which He has blessed us with. Just like He is in every storm, He will be our safety and refuge in this one too. We pray God's safety and refuge for all those in the path of this storm and that God will give wisdom and discernment to those who should evacuate, etc. We pray for @Ina I. Wonder and her family and friends and all those in Texas and Louisiana that they may be kept safe from all harm too. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=165183337375684
Hope everyone is safe!! Haven't paid close attention to this....besides forum members I don't know anyone in the affected areas. When is supposed to hit?
Well depending on who is predicting...some are saying Friday night, another one says Saturday morning @Chrissy Cross.
What gets us that where we've lived before, people think that hurricanes only hit Florida, like earthquakes are only in California. While some left our apt. complex when Mathew hit last year, we stayed. This hurricane was about 50 miles off of our coast and the coastal cities really got hit. Actually, we weren't even in an "Evacuation Zone". There was rain and wind, but I was able to go outside, onto our front patio area and video the weather that was hitting us. I have a daughter that lives (lived) in Corpus Christi. She lived there for some years, was married and divorced there, before moving, with her mom (my ex) and step-dad to North Carolina. A couple of years ago, she had a major problem with her mom and moved back to Corpus Christi to try and re-unite with her ex. Use to follow her on FB, but she quit posting. We have no communication with each other.
Hurricane Harvey making land fall to-day in Texas hope anyone in that area is prepared and everything goes well for you http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/153146.shtml?mltoa34#contents
