@Bill Boggs You may want to take Beth's advice here. What you are describing is exactly what I was going through when I had a TIA (mini stroke) a few months ago. It was caused by high blood sugar. My brain wasn't getting enough oxygen. It kept getting worse and I thought it was vertigo. If you have a friend who is diabetic, they can check it for you. But for now, avoid as much sugar as you can, minimize coffee and drink lots of water because it hydrates you. I know it's a pain making a trip to a doctor, but it could be a big deal better off avoided. If you smoke, cut it down to just a few puffs an hour. It could be any number of things, but again, this was what I started feeling about 2 weeks before I had the TIA. Take it seriously.
Must be very unsettling not knowing a certain cause for your issues, the posts you've received are all valid could be's. Best person will probably be your doctor, don't let things go too long.....one thought i had was " Vertigo ", it is to do with your inner ear, may not be, but you never know.
Proper definition: A transient ischemic attack (TIA) is a stroke that lasts only a few minutes. It happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is briefly blocked. Symptoms of a TIA are like other stroke symptoms, but do not last as long. They happen suddenly, and include. Numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body
I just checked my blood pressure, twice. First time it was 160 over 83 sitting; 140 over 80 standing. Five minutes later it was 154 over 75, pulse 76 sitting; 128 over 73, pulse 83- standing. My normal blood pressure 102 to 129 sitting and 98 to 109 standing. So my BP is a little high.
Many things will contribute to a fluctuating B/P. Having a cup of coffee or tea, or even a soda or a whiskey can temporarily throw it off kilter for a short while. Also, a sudden unpleasant thought or happy thought, or sight will do likewise. If, however, this persists, see a doctor. Of course, you can't dwell on it for anxiety will definitely throw it haywire.
I fell. I have been mostly light-headed for over three weeks. Have had trouble standing and moving Around.
Yikes.!! I presume you're ok given that you've posted here, but Bill you have to see a Doctor. There's a reason you've been light-headed for weeks, and now it's clearly getting worse, so you MUST go and get it sorted out!!...stay safe and do what your auntie Holly tells you...
Didn't mean to be dramatic. My mini ipad sometime quits on me. My VA health care providers are aware, but don't know what to do about. Latest advice, drink more water. The fall didn't hurt me except scratches and sore shoulder And arm, No real problems. Going to quit driving till this is settled. It's a standing up problem mostly. But not always. Can't function standing. It's worrisome. Roommate insist on getting wheelchait. Lying down now so I feel And see okay. Will be back on when feel like it. No worries.
