    Well that's good news!

I'm so happy for you, Von...and for Johnny. What an ordeal.

So happy for you Von and also so proud you took a stance against male stubbornness and got Johnny working harder at his therapy. Will, he continue with therapy once he is home? I hope you can get back to your DIY soon.

Did I say next week?! Wrong ... Boy oh boy oh boy. I looked at my calendar and it's TODAY!
Faye, I have been doing some DIYs but nothing more than but to keep myself busy. It's summer and I have my grandbabies over while school is out. We have been crafting though. There's one I will be posting here shortly.

This week Johnny has had assessments for physical and occupational therapy at home. I believe he is loving the one on one attention:D.

Myself, I have been trying to keep cool this week for temps have been in the mid 90s.

Great news that Johnny is loving his PT. You must not have AC. We are still in the 100s most days with no rain since early June. Without AC I would be working as potash fertilizer out in my flower beds. :). Stay  Von!

I have two window units one upstairs the other downstairs. I can only have on one or I'll trip a circuit breaker. I have lots of fans though :D. Also my dehumidifier arrived that I won in an online auction last week. It's one for a small area and I put it in the stairwell. Man, about an hour or so I really felt the difference.:)

I'm here. My role as caregiver is evolving slowly and I am trying to figure out ways to squeeze in some 'Me time.' For the past week my computer has been acting up by shutting down. I think I need more memory because of the last error message I got. I been hopping from Johnny's laptop and my Windows 10 computer setting them up. Despite all that's happening I hold close to my heart that God is not going to give me anything that I can't handle.

I pop in though to see what's new. Thank you for thinking about me, Beth.

John I'm not sure you would want to read any posts from me right at this moment. I will say that I could have my own reality show or be in a circus with the way I've been juggling things around here, lol.

Take care Von and hope things get better and you find more time for yourself. Think of you often and miss your DIY. I was going to make a DIY post on repairing my neighbor's cat pee-damaged door, but I forgot to take photos.

Thanks Faye. I work to stay positive. By work I mean attitude. I did manage to get grass growing in area of my front yard that was ruined by the lawn service. Now that it has about 90% coverage the rest of the yard does not look good in comparison. That hasn't been sitting well with me but the season is quickly changing so any thoughts of improvements will have to wait. I have received compliments on my work though after trying three times, lol. The third time was the charmed * I went with my gut instinct.

Cat pee-damaged door? Really? How is that possible? I'm snickering.

@Von Jones Yes, staying positive is a tough one! My lawn looks like a patchwork quilt. I went back to doing my own lawn because of lawn service damage. How is it possible to have a cat pee damaged door? That was my question when I was out walking and stopped to talk to my old neighbor that still lives alone in the family home after her husband died with several cats. She keeps her bathroom door closed and so her former female cats would spray the bottom of that closed door and over the years it swelled up since it was a thin wood veneer over pressed cardboard. When the last of the offending cats died from old age, she decided to replace the door. Handymen quoted her high prices for door replacement and finding a door to match was impossible plus handymen are booked for months around here. The smell was finally getting to her after all these years.

I could see it was weighing heavy on her mind and really troubling her. So I volunteered to look at it and try to find her a door and a guy to replace it. I checked it out and measured it. It was a custom-made door like all in her house. Without changing the fame and a lot of work the only solution was a repair. I told her I would fix it for her. Even though we have been neighbors for 30 years, she knew little about me. She is a recluse and seldom is seen.

Her face was filled with doubt as I hauled it over to my garage and I cut and chiseled off all the damage, the thickness of the veneer pressed cardboard ply, which immediately got rid of the stench. Only the bottom two inches was damaged so I installed a piece of gold anodized metal that was the right thickness and it looked really nice once hung. The 1/8th" ply had swollen to 1" with years of cat urine. I had never seen anything like it. Had the ply been all wood, my plan was to moisten it and use the heat gun to make it flexible and then apply hot hide glue under it and then push it down flat and scrape it and then refinish it. There was no compressing the years of female feline piss swollen once compressed cardboard back down.
