This is right around the corner from me. It was on the market for a while. Sits on 50 acres, sold for a little over $700,000.

When I see a house like that, I always think about the new family moving in and the kid going upstairs after dark when a closet door randomly slams. And so, it begins...

I LOVE that house, @John Brunner , and at one time, it definitely would have been the kind I would have picked to live in (if the money was no object); but now, it is not even a possibility for me, the same as Bobby’s lighthouse.
I would dearly love to live somewhere close to the ocean, and the idea of (the bottom floor) of a lighthouse sounds great as far as being able to see and hear the ocean.
I miss being somewhere that I was at least close enough to go to the ocean and wade in the sand at the edge of the shore, and living on the Washington or Oregon coast would be my first choice.

However, being realistic, for me now, I would probably be better off in an environment like Lon Tanner had, a senior facility with all of the amenities. He had an exercise area, an indoor pool, could make his own meal or go to the dining area, and they took people out for shopping or site-seeing trips.
So, that would be my choice, if money were not a consideration.

There are times I view such a life as representing Maximum Freedom, especially if I were still mobile enough to drive around and do stuff off-site.

I've had a wrap around porch and the downside was how dark it makes your interior!!

I would either like to live in Bobby Cole's dream houses or a shoe box. I'd like to fix one up. Or I'd want a small one with no stairs.
