I'm totally amazed how much the snow has gone down, 11 celcius here now, no sun though. All this dump of snow is doing is making a big mess, if this was March, that's expected.

The snow in the Detroit area was lovely for about an hour and then it turned into grey mushy slush and then froze. Ugh. All winter.

Then we moved to the suburbs. All was well until snow season. Our street was used by the town's police department to get to Woodward Avenue so it was plowed at least two times a day, which was great except that all that ice and snow got pushed over into the driveways. You'd hear the plow go by at 5 a.m. and you'd roll over and think, "OH, NO....I'll have to shovel three feet of snow and ice out of the end of the driveway before I can leave for work. And then, you'd come home at 6 p.m. and it would have been plowed in again. Only this time, it would have frozen over into a three foot berm of hard ice. Next day, rinse and repeat....

I've never yet had to shovel three feet of heat and humidity out of my driveway here in Central Florida. Just saying...…..

@Mary Robi Great decision, Florida. I never have had to shovel the end of my driveway entrance, because of the way the street is, snow is moved across the street, kind of a three way street, besides, the person that drives the maintainer for the town lives right beside me, so right here gets cleared first, no pile up on his, mine and a couple of other drives, spoiled, he's the best one on that machine.

I guess this is why so many of us stay here.....even though we get the occasional scare of getting blown away. :D

For some, Florida is a great decision to move to, but for others, like us, would never/ever live there or in The South again.

Well, first...…..bugs! Even with an Exterminator coming to our apartment complex weekly, we had numerous Water Bugs (relative to the cockroach).
High humidity that can really make a person sweat, when the outside temp is hot.
The obvious: threat of hurricanes and/or tropical storms...……..which we went thru both. Irma went right over us!

Tell any Senior here, in Colorado, that you lived in Florida and they will automatically say "WHY???". And, the folks in Florida, or The South, will say "why on earth would anyone want to live in snow/cold?"

When living in the North East we were always ready for the cold, snow, ice. Didn't much like that as weather but with 3 hungry teens to feed moving wasn't an option any more. But once retired our family trips around America gave us an insight into where the last years would suit us.

Kids out on their own, retirement planning was about going from a 5 bedroom bi-level home on 5 acres to a 3 bedroom low maintenance rancher in Southern Nv. That eliminated the need to be ready for the cold, snow, & ice. Don't want to mislead, it can get cold & snow. A short amount of time from about mid Nov. to mid Feb. The cold usually means wearing a sweat shirt & the BBQ taking a little longer to come up to cooking temp. Snow so rare, means looking out the window before it melts.

Ok, whos the wise guy in Colorado responsible for the Colorado low to land here again on Monday. Less than amused.:(:(. Wonder if Donald Trump can install a ban on this kind of stuff from happening. OOPS......Sorry....don't think that will happen....he doesn't like Canadians very much, so maybe it's his fault.:(. Maybe someone can move Colorado farther away.......m..u..c..h.. farther away..

Don't ask Colorado folks who LOVE Colorado about moving the State! Nope, wouldn't do that.

Anyway.... back to the snow question ...

Some of you will often hear me say that when I've been shopping , I've popped into the pub for a coffee half way through.. if you look at the second picture and on the lower right, you will see the pub that I go to when I'm shopping.. (not the one we go to on a day or evening out , which tend to be out here in the countryside)..but that one in the picture is right amongst all the shops I need on a weekly basis so it's very handy, plus it does great lunches

Amazing, the dump of white crap that the Colorado low was so nice to give us a week ago is almost gone, except for a few really heavy spots. Our next surprise from Colorado is tomorrow, wonder what it will be.:rolleyes:o_O:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:.

How can this weather be a "surprise" from us (Colorado) since YOU will get it before we do? Looks like, up here in northern Colorado will get some next week.
