My son Bob went along as backuop for me We left for Pa at 10:30 on Friday following routing suggested by my zar. We were on the Mass turnpike at lunch yime. So stopped i had a cold along with what I’ll call a slice of kitchen pizza. He had a cold drink and some kind of sub sandwich. When wefinished it time toforge ahead on journey. We had an uneveful(except no toll booth on toll highways) to the area of Hartford Ct.

We were diverted theu Hartford and were sent on a mind boggling. Frustrating backbreaking trek thru Ct to emerge in NY abot 4 hours later. We drove inNY until we found some place to eat We stopped ar a truck stop and a rather nice dinner during wh the waitress promised me a special strawberry sundae to go. More of this tomorrow.

What did you do that made the waitress promise you a special strawberry sundae to go? Did she deliver on the sundae? I wasn't expecting this cliffhanger, but it does add some fun after all that frustrating travel.

Saturday morning went to a local diner for breakfast(pictures later) went to see my newest great grandson(oictyeres later), had lunch and eventually went out yo supper(dinner for those) with son, his wife, grand son, his wife, and the great grand son....MY daughter-in-law described it as serving comfort food (like Cracker0barrel) but it was an old inn that served delicious cuisine) I hsd Jaeger Schnitzel and peach tea(yum yum will have pics). Sunday the PA sob cooked b reajfast and we departed about 8 for home.My navigator decided to use his cell's Gps to get us home after disaster routing by my car on the way down..We drove rickety split thrU PA,and NY and stopped after we passed Danbury CT at a 24 hour diner where I had lunch I hadn't had for 30 some years ...roast leg of lamb with min jelly......Gassed upland hit the highway.......We arrived home at about 3:45... a much faster trip home......after we were home about 1-1/2 hours my PA son texts me as to where we were...I gad been texting his wife the whole trip but she didn't tell him trip is over....todday ZI went to my local Ford dealer to see if we could make a deal on vehicle like PA son and PA wife had...mu more comfortable than my Fusion.....

We gotta get out of this place, too! Time to hit the trail to the beach. I've had it so the doggies will get to see the beach for their first time.
No excuse I don't like going to beach on weekends, in next couple days.
Better hurry before something else tears up or breaks down.

We went to the beach yesterday and the dogs freaked out of course. But they did get their feet wet but we were to busy holding them to take a picture. I'll put up what picture they allowed in their Pets and Critters thread.
