It is a federal crime to provide false statements when purchasing a firearm. But it's highly unlikely he'll be convicted or sentenced.
Bill Clinton also committed perjury & he'll never go to prison.
Al Capone was a career criminal with all kinds of crimes - including over 200 murders, plus tax evasion, so they went after him

There was a guy out west who did a straw purchase for someone solely for the cash (in other words, not done for a friend) and a child was killed with the gun. The judge let him off. "It would be a shame to send him to jail after all the improvements he's made in his life." But let a regular person like us have our flight diverted to Newark and our legally transported firearm will land us in prison.

I took my new colt commander with me in my shaving case on my flight from Fort Lewis to RVN. Once I got to Cam Ranh Bay I had to turn it over to the property room, my first thought was I would never see it again. 3 days later when I was assigned to 1st Avn Bde they returned it to me before I left. I ask why it wasn't confiscated and he said because it was a 45 and that was allowed since it was a nato round and also a 38 would have been permitted due to not having a problem of finding ammo for it. I believe he must have thought it had been assigned to me. I did not try to bring it home with me and sold it for 75 dollars but I only paid 90 dollars for it new in the box at a small gun store in Dallas Down Town close to the Bus station. It was a really fine little side arm and it was with me every flight I was ever on, everything I saw it also witnessed in 3 years. I just took a look and today this gun I purchased for 90 dollars today cost 2200 dollars. I should have kept all those old things I once owned :(

    Republicans advocate justice.

    Democrats advocate “Just Us”.

Yeah, it has been said by several that the Dems act as they do because they know the Republicans won't act the same as it would destroy the republic. At least those commentators believe most Republicans still want to save the nation while the Democrats don't care as long as they get their share. It wasn't always that way though. Prior to the 1970s,, the Dems were as patriotic as the Republicans, just with different views. Unfortunately, that is apparently no longer the case.

So, it seems that Hunter's daddy's guy has appointed a special prosecutor, which might have sounded like a good idea except that it's the same guy who has previously consolidated his investigation with the defense, and the same guy who offered Joe's little boy a sweetheart deal. With the prosecutors and the defense on the same side, that dual justice system raises its head again.
