My first job was a summer job after I graduated from high school, before going to college.

It was at a scuzzy loan company with a scuzzy manager and scuzzy customers. I was only 17, not old enough to get "bonded". The scuzzy manager falsified my papers to get me bonded. One day we were robbed at gunpoint. Luckily, I was in the restroom the whole time primping for a date after work. I came out to excitement and police and much hoop-la.

My dad made me quit immediately.

None of the subsequent jobs were anywhere near that exciting.....

I bought semis in the mid 70s through the 80s (lived through the 74S/74LS Shottky shortage), then worked for a $500Million PC hardware/software reseller. In between that I worked for the communications division of NEC America.

I wondered if our companies may have crossed paths back then, but I was buying semis from east coast resellers.
