I know someone who is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's. For as long as I have known him, he has been a terrific guy and a great neighbor. As he knew how to do things that I didn't know how to do, I relied upon his expertise at times. I still love him, although he sometimes doesn't know who I am now, but I wouldn't nominate him for a seat in Congress. In a stable government, we elect capable people rather than electing them to office because they can't support themselves in any other way.

Yes ! there is a lady who goes swimming at the fitness center, and she is early-stages dementia also. A wonderful lady, and she is quite friendly and loves chatting while we are swimming. Her daughter brings her and watches over her, and she said that her mom used to run a bakery here in Huntsville and was an excellent businesswoman.
She always asks me the same thing over and over (my name, how old I am, etc); and I really enjoy her company and am glad that she is still able to swim and enjoy the outing.

Why people who are not capable of being in government are allowed to hold office is beyond me, it is hard enough dealing with the ones who do have all of their faculties.

Whenever I think of the first family shot I saw of the Fettermans, I was shocked. I just thought Pennsylvania was such a special place. I just didn't know "how" special, LOL!

To be put in the hospital for depression sounds a bit weird, or lacking the real reason to me. Suicidal depression, afraid he might harm himself? That probably wouldn't put him in the mood to give a darn about what he was elected to do.

Really something wrong with those reports, what's new right

I guess it’s just another Google article that disappeared again. I did run across another though that claims that he and Feinstein both died.
Maybe if I remember exactly how I worded the query then it might pop up but for now, until he does show up either dead or in congress (hard to tell which is which) I’ll settle for whatever happens.

He's not brain-dead, he's headed that way if his loving wife and other supporters holding him up don't quit what they're doing.

Since he put himself in the hospital, maybe he gets better drugs than he would if he stayed out.

From an article I read, part of his depressive state is caused by his wife’s not so secret infidelity. Committing one’s self is a huge step but to get out of an abusive atmosphere and enjoy some killer drugs at the same time, I can see it.

Her and Jill Biden are pretty disgusting people, they'd have to be wouldn't they? The love of money is the root of all evil.

Interesting. Fetterman may have some redeeming qualities. :D

"WASHINGTON — Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is breaking with progressives on hot-button issues with his fiery support for Israel and calls for Democrats to engage on tougher immigration laws, disappointing some on the left as he shows an independent streak.

He’s also continually scolding Democrats for not pushing Sen. Bob Menendez out of office after he was indicted on federal charges of taking bribes and acting as a foreign agent for Egypt, which the New Jersey Democrat denies.

In the 2022 campaign, Fetterman's ties to Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., prompted GOP opponent Mehmet Oz to tell voters he’d be a mere “sidekick” for the democratic socialist. But Fetterman's recent stances point to an unorthodox brand of blue-collar liberalism, with a dash of outsider populism, in a purple state that is expected to be hotly contested again in the 2024 elections.

I don’t know if I’m a natural born skeptic or have become one in my mature years, but I sure don’t trust anything today’s Democrats do or say. The skeptic in me says Fetterman was given the green light and told what to say (a few other Democrats, too,) but it’s just part of the contingency plan to oust Biden from 2024 if they think he needs to go.
