@Bill Boggs , I started and finished it this weekend. I enjoyed it. In these days of crime, killing, hatred, and war, it was just the kind of book I needed.
I have a copy of Stephen Vincent Benèt's book, "The Last Circle". It was published posthumously in 1946. I don't know how it came into my possession but as I walked by my bookcase today it caught my eye. I pulled it out and opened the cover. Written in script on the first blank page are the words, "To my dear daughter Helen from Mama .... Christmas 1946. The first story is, "The Bishop's Beggar." I thought I'd just read a few lines. I finished the whole story instead. It's really good writing. I'm not usually fond of old writings because of the long, run on sentences. Most of the time I put them aside after the first paragraph. I was pleasantly surprised with this story. I intend to read the rest of the book. And maybe find a copy of, "John Brown's Body".
