Was tragic, for sure; for all on board that helicopter that morning; it exploded, leaving nothing but debris. Also tragic is his being accused of raping that girl at the hotel; too. I just don't understand all the statue stuff happening all the time, tearing them down; and putting up other ones. Folks cannot change history, even if they try.

I had to LOL when I saw that statue. Whoever made it doesn't know what he's doing.
Kobe Bryant was 6'7". The legs on that statue belong on someone who is around 5'8".

Again a very bad decision by Kobe and so many gone. It would have to be dire for me to get in one of those. Hearing about the 5 Marines dying in a copter crash, they were on a training mission

One of the risks of being wealthy & being able to buy anything. When Kobe was barely 22, he was interviewed when he bought a Ferrari. He said, "It's like being strapped in a rocket."

Someone needs to super glue a Confederate hat onto him and watch heads explode.

Why a statue of Kobe; because he was a great basketball player and died tragically? Has everyone forgotten of his infidelity to his wife? According to his fellow basketball players he had multiple sexual affairs. I guess its ok to put up a statue of a basketball player and tear down all our statues of American history.

I can only imagine what his widow is thinking.

I kind of remember when Kobe was on the news after being found out about his affairs. He gave his wife a 4 or 5 million dollar diamond ring to convince her to stay with him. I guess love can be bought.

I'm trying to find out if Kobe owned or leased the helicopter that he died in.

Who owned the Kobe Bryant helicopter?
The helicopter was owned by Island Express Holding Corp, a private helicopter transport company, according to Federal Aviation Administration records.

It was not clear whether Bryant chartered the helicopter or leased it.

The NBA icon used the helicopter to beat Los Angeles' chronic traffic problem and even to go the doctor.

He was relying on helicopters as far back as 2010, according to GQ.

I gotta admit, if I had the money and lived in LA (and were shielded from eco-weenie criticism), this is how I would travel.

The helicopter that crashed Sunday is the same craft Bryant took to his final game in April 2016. Island Express Holding Corp. of Van Nuys bought the helicopter and changed its tail number to N72EX – the identifier it was using when it went down Sunday.Jan 28, 2020

That is Shocking from you John. I have driven and lived in So Cal for close to 60 yrs and drove for many of the jobs I had and this busy area has Never been an issue. Never....
.It's wide open spaces here and many of our freeways are 8 lanes and some smaller freeways are deserted.

I drove in NY area a little and talk about bumper to bumper ..

I thought that LA was nothin' but a parking lot. I lived outside of DC and hated the 2 hour long/10 mile drives, and assumed yours was worse.
