#2 is correct. I didn't vote for Reagan either time that he ran. I did vote for George McGovern in 1972 and even worked for his campaign (which might be why he only won the State of Massachusetts and the District of Columbia), and I voted for Michael Peroutka, the Constitution Party candidate, in 2004. While I did vote for GW Bush in 2000, I did not vote for his reelection.
