I have actually seen wonderful pictures taken on the new phones that are out. Much better than camera ones often. I love "making memories" for us all to look back on with my camera but I am by no means a photographer in the amateur or professional sense of the word. I am a memory maker for our Family. Three of my sisters are very good photographers and each of them has sold some of their photos although not for a lot of money. One of the photos that a sister of mine did was even used on the front cover of the Destin phone directory a few years ago. Every time I take a really good picture it is always a complete surprise to me. Digital cameras are so great though that if the lighting is right and as you learn the ins and outs of your camera your pictures should get better and better. Another secret is taking dozens of pictures of whatever you are trying to capture. My sisters all do this, but I just want to capture the memories and they don't have to be perfect! @Holly Saunders This flower photo that I took from a flower in my flower bed remains one of my favorites...the light was perfect.
Two of my granddaughters just had their Birthdays. One turned 3 and got a bubble maker. And the other one turned 16 and got a car. And both girls feel like they got the best present!
Just a little while ago we got a surprise visit from our youngest grandkids and their Mom. Their Mom came to thank us for babysitting the little ones while she was out of town this past Friday. This time I remembered to take some pictures. It's a beautiful day and what a nice surprise.
After the snow melted today my daughter called and asked if I could keep my grandson for a little while she picked up some things at CVS. I had a really nice time playing with him and my granddaughter when her Mom and she got back. My grandson has started "posing" now for his pictures...to funny! My granddaughter loved the snow and helped her mom make a snow family.
Every year it seems our grandkids are involved in more activities, etc. than the year before. It is really hard to keep up with them now and try to attend at least one thing or event each grandchild is involved in. We are proud of all of our grandkids and their accomplishments. Last night one of our older granddaughters attended an Award Banquet for being a nominee for best Athlete of the Year. She won third place which we all thought was awesome! She is the granddaughter that placed softball and is such a wonderful pitcher that she has been offered College Scholarships and finally decided to take the one from Mobile, Alabama. Drew Brees our New Orleans Saints Quarterback was the Speaker at their Banquet last night. It was a very exciting night for our granddaughter and we are all very proud of her accomplishments which she has worked really hard for. In the picture below she is the tallest one in the yellow dress. We also attended our youngest granddaughter's first Ballet Recital this past week. She has come so far in letting her light shine now days and no longer being shy and hiding it under a bushel. We look forward to many more recitals in her future.
Congratulations to our Sunshine! This granddaughter finished the 5th grade with Principal’s List, AR Award, Tenmarks Award, and for the 3rd Year in a Row - The Leadership Award! And she also made the Cheerleading team and is wonderful in her acting and singing roles. There's so much to be proud of with all our grandkids. But awards and accomplishments aside we are truly blessed just to be Granny and Papaw to every one of our grandkids and we thank God for each one He has gifted us with.
Our big ones are cute too..but they just never stay anywhere long enough to get pictures of them very often.
