That is definitely important, @Don Alaska , and sometimes overlooked when a person is focusing on other nutrients. The almond flatbread has lots of fiber since it is made with almond meal, psyllium, and flax meal, plus it has about 10 grams of protein, and only about 3 carbs per flatbread, as well as the healthy fats from the coconut oil that I use to make it.
This has really gotten to be something that I enjoy eating, and look forward to it when I add it to my meal.

Last year, my health insurance decided that they would not cover my Armour thyroid medication, so I started weaning myself off of it, and have been only taking it about once a week, because I knew when I ran out, I could not have any of it to take.
Bobby and I just had our annual wellness visit and blood tests last week, and it turned out that my thyroid has gotten really low and back into hyperthyroid again.
This is probably why my efforts at losing weight have just not been very successful, and I have felt lethargic more and more often.
I had one last refill left, and I decided to go ahead and refill, even if the insurance didn’t cover it, but it turned out that Humana does cover it, and so I won’t have to worry about having that medication to keep my thyroid working right again.
I called my doctor office, and they also renewed my prescription, and Humana will be sending more out for me, plus what I just picked up at the Med Mall last week, so I should be good from now on out.
I am already feeling more active, and have also ordered some thyroid support capsules from Amazon to help it get back to proper functioning.

@Yvonne Smith sorry to hear that you have become hypothyroid again when they took you off the Armour. Are you on Synthroid or some generic synthetic? You might be able to get a "balanced" synthetic, as they are available now if insurance won't pay for Armour. I have mentioned before that women seem to be happiest when their TSH is around 1.0 mU/L even though usually up to 5.0 is considered "normal". I, too, get concerned when people who don't need to go extreme is the carb elimination, as so many nutrients involve carb intake, especially around vegetables.

I'm glad and sorry about the mini holiday we just had.. The excessive amount of food I ate proved to me that my disease isn't over..
Like I said before... WE ALL HAVE A DISEASE THAT WILL KILL US.....
That disease is called ....... COMPULSIVE OVEREATING ....
I have curbed the disease by going on low carb, but that doesn't mean I still don't have it....

It turns out that the Armour thyroid IS allowed with Humana, and now it is covered again. I got my last refill, and Humana should start sending it out in the mail every three months along with my other heart medications.
However, I also bought thyroid support , as well as more of the Lugol’s Iodine drops, and seem kelp tablets, so between all of that, my thyroid should start getting back to normal again.
I have started making the bulletproof coffee in the mornings again, and it seems like that really wakes up my brain and helps me to think better and focus. I just am still stumbling around in the morning fog until I get it made, and then I am better right away, and it keeps me feeling full and satisfied until my main meal early in the afternoon.

That is so true, Steve. Maintaining weight is much harder than dieting, at least for me. It's a constant battle.

I don't know about all of you, but I have a problem while on induction...
It is all about eating out.. Where I live, there aren't any decent eating places.. Mainly the fast food type of place such as MacDonald's, Tim Horton's, Wendy, Subway, etc... You get the picture...........
We like to eat out every now and then, but not at these places.. We do have a few other restaurants that cook homemade meals but they have absolutely NO idea what induction means.. I tell them low carb and I am not much better off... Typical farmer meals..

Another problem is when we are invited out to friends house for dinner.. I try to explain the induction thing to them and again, it isn't an easy task as they are pasta eaters...
We belong to a local Seniors Club that has a pot luck once a month.. again the main dishes are all carb loaded and some of those desserts are total poison to us..

The only option is during this time, eat only at home.. At least we know what we are eating and it is ........ "our way"...

I hate to bring this up, but, does any of you have a problem with.... constipation .....???
I have a very slight problem and to overcome it I take some..... Metamucil .... about every other day just before breakfast..
That seems to do the trick...
