When her dish is empty she CAT FFEDING.jpg will push it to the middle of the floor. She has not done this with her water dish yet.

Cats are not subtle when it comes to food. All pretenses at class go out the window and they go from being regal to being that aggressive beggar on the corner.

I am one of these neat & tidy guys and because I use a walker to get around and my stiff and achy joints make bending and getting up and down uncomfortable, taking care of Cranberry takes effort. I just emptied her litter box which is a Saturday chore. I change the litter once a month. Feeding her and giving her water requires little effort on my part. I enjoy playing with her and taking naps together. She is one smart kitty and has learned my habits and routine.

Animals are smart, Lon. My dog knows that s soon as we finish breakfast, it's play time. When she sees me put my fork down, she immediately goes to the box where her toys are kept. She looks at me and waits for me to come play.

Earthquakes here in Central California are almost a daily occurrence and this afternoon we had a 4.5. My kitty felt it before I did and jumped off her perch

I saw there was an earthquake at the California/Nevada border.

Animals live on a different plane than we do, that's for sure. I gotta think that domesticating dogs & cats has saved many a human life.

That being said, don't expect Cranberry to grab you by the collar and drag you out to safety. In an emergency, it's every cat for herself! ;)

Dogs? They try hard to please us.
Cats? They hang around to see what else we can do for them.

Don't misunderstand. I love the hell out of my cat, but I don't mistake his motives. Barney1.JPG

There's nothing like having an animal look at you with disdain, yet you STILL scoop their poop.

This a high class forum. We don't say 'poop'. We say 'feces' ... or 'shit' ... whatever.

    Just so ya know...

Feces is the solid or semi-solid remains of food that was not digested in the small intestine, and has been broken down by bacteria in the large intestine. Feces contains a relatively small amount of metabolic waste products such as bacterially altered bilirubin, and dead epithelial cells from the lining of the gut.

I once knew a guy named Billy Rubin.

... and once in Oregon when I was arrested for not paying a speeding ticket, they threw me in an epithelial cell. It was awful,
