But those don't have the built-in wrench to adjust the length of the skate. We have three clocks in the house that need to be wound, so I have clock keys.
We used to go to a roller rink as kids on Saturdays. They would announce a ticket number for a free pass while we skated. In the process of skating and digging in my pocket for my ticket, I fell and broke my wrist. Never went back.
When I was in junior high or so, the big thing was to go to the skating rink on Friday nights. I had my own lace-up leather shoe skates with pom-poms on the toes. It was a popular hangout back then and a lot of fun. I was also a "sidewalk skater" with the old over-the-shoe skates that needed the key. Lots of skinned knees but I never broke anything.
