    ...and swallowed up in a society completely full of unrighteousness and fully determined to remain death dealing/pernicious, as in Galatians.

    A secret from the NT - "We" in Christ,
    "Have the thoughts of Jesus"!

    God does not fit in a human-box any more than a house cat fit into an ant-box. Let Him show you who He is and what He can do.

    "Great is the Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite." - Psalm 147:5

    Lum: Where is the first cigarette mentioned in the KJV Bible?
    Abner: I don’t know - where?
    Lum: In Genesis 24:64 where it says that Rebekah lit off a camel.

    "I'd walk a mile for a camel"

    "You strain out the gnat and swallow the camel!" —Matthew 23:24

    "Jesus accused the Pharisees of straining out the gnat and swallowing the camel. Elsewhere, Jesus said it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God (Mt 19:24). Both times Jesus used the camel as a means to spotlight a ridiculous lifestyle."

    "Jesus castigated the Pharisees for traveling many miles to convert a person and then making this person into twice the devil that he previously was (Mt 23:15). Jesus tried to shock them into seeing that this effort is ridiculous. Why travel so far and work so hard to end up swallowing a camel?"

    "People still walk miles to swallow camels today. For example, many ignore their spouse and children, slaving for decades to save money — only to lose their retirement in the stock market or in paying off the nursing home (Hg 1:6). Why spend your life to end up in dissatisfaction? (Is 55:2) Why work so hard to end up in hell? (Lk 12:16-21) It's hard to swallow!"

    "How much better it is to let go and let God! (Ps 46:11) If we seek first the kingdom of God on His terms and let His will be done in us, the Father will provide all we need (Mt 6:32-34). "It is vain for you to rise early, or put off your rest, you that eat hard-earned bread, for He gives to His beloved in sleep" (Ps 127:2).

    Blessed is the name: Dylan loved to sing it but never recorded it

    "There are no lyrics on the official site but they do list a song called “Blessed be the name” although Dylan clearly sings “Blessed is the name” in the one and only recording I can find of the song (linked below)."

    "First played on 1 November 1979 and last played on 17 May 1980 – 43 renditions, and then put to sleep without release."

    "Anyway, back to the origins: the phrase is from Daniel 2:20, “Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him."

    "There is a cantata from the 19th century called Daniel or the Captivity and Restoration. by CM Cady and GF Root (with others credited) which is famous for opening with a very recognisable version of By the Rivers of Babylon. The fourth song in the cantata is “Blessed be the name of the Lord forever,” and that absolutely must be where Dylan got it from since all other versions don’t have “forever” at the end."

    One Minute With God - August 25, 2023

    When Jesus died, the veil was torn - our separation
    from the Father was no longer an issue.
    We were welcomed into His presence by grace alone.

    "Be dilegint to present yourself approved to God
    as a workman who does not need to be ashamed,
    accurately handling the word of truth."
    (II Timothy 2:15)

    God's love is what warms us from the inside out. His character of love is what allows us to feel love and give love.

    "Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations." - Psalm 145:13

    This is one of my "String-Cheese Poems.....minus the bottle!

    This Eternal spark ©

    …into this earth…a new birth will enter in. This Eternal spark within…when does it begin… to never end? You could say…that all who we are, have come our way…through the Eternal way.

    How can our weak flesh contain…in the midst of sorrow and pain…this Eternal gain? O God, keep our mileaged feet …free of hopeless defeat, always true to you….on your Eternal Street.

    …hark…we ourselves are harbingers of those who this very day are born into the day. And feel your eternal spark, within…a lark…as we begin again.

    We yearn for that Eternal Day…when…in the midst of a breath… we welcome death to come our way. You act… and we find our way to You… our spark Eternally intact!

    Discipline lasts for a short season; shorter if you're a fast learner.
    The freedom and joy of maturity will last forever.

    "Who is a God like you, who pardons iniquity and passes over the rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in unchanging love." Micah 7:18

    God needs no tough, hardened heart from you.
    He invites you to be raw and vulnerable.
    In fact, that's when He does His best work.

    "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap
    nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
    Are you not worth much more than they?"
    Matthew 6:26

    Jeremiah 10:1-16 (NIV)

    God and Idols

    1 Hear what the Lord says to you, people of Israel. 2 This is what the Lord says:

    “Do not learn the ways of the nations
    or be terrified by signs in the heavens,
    though the nations are terrified by them.
    3 For the practices of the peoples are worthless;
    they cut a tree out of the forest,
    and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.
    4 They adorn it with silver and gold;
    they fasten it with hammer and nails
    so it will not totter.
    5 Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field,
    their idols cannot speak;
    they must be carried
    because they cannot walk.
    Do not fear them;
    they can do no harm
    nor can they do any good.”

    6 No one is like you, Lord;
    you are great,
    and your name is mighty in power.
    7 Who should not fear you,
    King of the nations?
    This is your due.
    Among all the wise leaders of the nations
    and in all their kingdoms,
    there is no one like you.

    8 They are all senseless and foolish;
    they are taught by worthless wooden idols.
    9 Hammered silver is brought from Tarshish
    and gold from Uphaz.
    What the craftsman and goldsmith have made
    is then dressed in blue and purple—
    all made by skilled workers.
    10 But the Lord is the true God;
    he is the living God, the eternal King.
    When he is angry, the earth trembles;
    the nations cannot endure his wrath.

    11 “Tell them this: ‘These gods, who did not make the heavens and the earth, will perish from the earth and from under the heavens.’”

    12 But God made the earth by his power;
    he founded the world by his wisdom
    and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.
    13 When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar;
    he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth.
    He sends lightning with the rain
    and brings out the wind from his storehouses.

    14 Everyone is senseless and without knowledge;
    every goldsmith is shamed by his idols.
    The images he makes are a fraud;
    they have no breath in them.
    15 They are worthless, the objects of mockery;
    when their judgment comes, they will perish.

    16 He who is the Portion of Jacob is not like these,
    for he is the Maker of all things,
    including Israel, the people of his inheritance—
    the Lord Almighty is his name.
