Warren Buffett was asked about giving/leaving money to his kids. He said he wanted them to have enough so they could do anything, but not so much they could do nothing. Merry Christmas!
My grandkids were left a trust by their father and they both involved in enterprises that they worked up and have the trust as a back up....their own uncle is in charge of the trust and he's doing what he needs to do in his brother's name who is in the trust. It's a family trust and there were 5 boys and only 2 left now as the others died. It's complicated but I understand it. These kids are being productive.
Maybe it will give the poor kids an incentive to make sure their adult life won't be as difficult? I'm sure that those poor kids will not be working for a poor man, rich people create jobs and jobs create wealth. If the kids are going to bed hungry, it means their welfare parents are spending their money, food stamps on drugs or living above their means. American poor are richer than 70% of the worlds poor. Maybe if they stop voting for socialist who keep them in ghettos their life will improve.
Socialism destroyed ancient Rome Empire and recent Venezuela [along with many other nations] and it is what has destroyed America. I do agree we have become more of an oligarchy with rich ruling over us now though. But that has been the aim since 1913 when we turned our economy over to private bankers.
