I'm watching the series Mad Men again and enjoying it... again. It was originally aired in 2007 - 2015 on AMC, but I didn't see it until it was streaming on Netflix a few years ago. Very well done.

Anyone watch Atlas Shrugged? I liked that one about John Galt and Ayn Rand. Actually, more about capitalism than anything.

The French Connection. Magnificent movie with a very claustrophobic 70s New York vibe and a stellar score. An Oscar winning role for Hackman.

French Connection was scored by a jazz trumpet played by the name of Don Ellis. He had a custom-made 4 valve trumpet made.

This is a movie that I recommend, and the version that I watched is the 2009 movie. When I was looking for the trailer, it appears that they have made a newer 2022 version, maybe a tv show, not sure.

Anyway, this is a time travel movie, and if you liked Somewhere in Time, you will enjoy this movie, too. It is about a man who time travels involuntarily, he never knows when he will disappear or whether he will end up in the past or the future.
Because he also goes to the past, he travels back in time and meets his wife when she was just a little girl; so by the time they actually meet, she has known him all of her life, but he has not traveled back in time to meet her yet.
The trailer gives you a better idea of how all this works, and the movie is worth watching.

The theme is good, but the radical vulgarity was too much, especially considering most of it involved young teens in high school. It sure was a drastic change from the Karate Kid, it went from PG to in some cases X rated.

Why is this society so bad for our youth? I'm no prude for sure but limits are good.

I love Somewhere in Time because I loved Mackinak Island off the UP. You can see where it was filmed there.

I wasted an hour and a half of my life on this drivel, Spencer, staring Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana. The premise of the film, which is called a historical psychological drama, is about Princess Diana's supposed existential crisis during the Christmas of 1991, as she considers divorcing Prince Charles and leaving the British royal family. It's a work of fiction that depicts Diana as a simpering spoiled ninny on the edge of a psychological breakdown. The dialogue is stilted and difficult to hear since Stewart uses a breathy, whispery voice that is quite annoying.

All in all, I found this movie quite unwatchable and shut it off twice before finally watching the ending over a period of 3 days. (Not sure why I bothered except I kept expecting it to get better after all the 5-star reviews. I still have to wonder what those people saw in this that I did not.)

Notice Stewart's whispery voice in this trailer. That goes on for the entire movie.

    Thanks for the warning Beth.

We both liked "Person Of Interest" a great co-staring cast. Fantastic series with no real violence at all. Some kneecap's shot.

What we liked about this series is it is done in real life in real time. Got know the crew sadly including a funeral of one of the guys. Foul lango is cut out or bleeped.
