If your mom's body is closing down, she is probably going into kidney failure, @Chrissy Page . That is what happened with my mother before she died, and she was in terrible back pain from that. Because her back hurt, she hated to get up and have to be helped to the bathroom, so she stopped drinking water, which only made the situation worse. At the hospital, they put her on an IV, so that helped the dehydration, but by then, too much had just shut down. Just laying in bed for so long is also bound to give a person back pain as well; so this seems like a normal thing in her condition. Our prayers for you and your mother and your family, Chrissy.
