Was on water restrictions for a few days however that was due to a blue green algae outbreak rather than lack of water . Who would have thought Sydney would runout of water it normally gets allot of rain from storms. are you still getting heaps of smoke from NSW fires ,I’d have to flee.... I would have trouble breathing under those conditions
I feel so greatly for all the hardships you're having to face, heat, fire, volcano, i just can't imagine how horrific it must be. I need a reality check, complaining about our little weather, while others are fighting to keep what they have, they're life ands homes
That is very touching Micki. We are used to heat and fire. But when we in the south of my country are at risk of running dry of human kinds most important commodity despite the north having annual monsoonal rains and storms..that is gut wrenching. Our government needs to get serious over this. Your avatar.. cute. Whats his/her name.
Yes we used to get the rainwater but so little has fallen over our major reservoir..Warragamba Dam in the past 12 months it is at its lowest level ever. Government has announced the construction of two new dams..neither of which will be in the Greater Sydney area. The fires are choking Sydney. One mega blaze is now the size of Sydney and if it joins with another further south..Sydney is smack bang in the middle. Two brave firies were killed yesterday and three 8 severely burned. I blame incompetent authorities for allowing this forest fuel to go unattended during the cooler months...
I remember the days when I lived in Melbourne many years ago ... now I’m going to get on my soapbox .............Cattle were grazed in the hills to keep the undergrowth down then all the “do gooders”,complained about cattle damaging the areas so it was stopped ..now what’s happening devastating bush fires fed by the undergrowth in the hills and country areas where years ago grazing cattle kept undergrowth down to prevent fires I feel better now I’ve said by bit , now I can get off my soapbox ...I’m a bit of a greenie thinking person myself however I thought it was an very unwise decision when the cattle grazing was banned @Craig Swanson
Thoughts are still embedded in the situation of Australia - in England, we have had continuous rain and flooding since October, Australia needs this rain right now
Queensland and New South Wales need rain urgently in the hope of getting some control of the devastating bush fires still burning out of control. TBH I don’t know how much of is left of NSW to burn as a lot of that area was in severe drought before the fires, I live in Victoria however all I have to do to go to NSW is drive to the other side of the river 1 .5 km away @Patsy Faye 2 young fathers/ firefighters were killed due to the fires a few days ago
I think females are less likely to use their real names for safety reasons. I know a few people on here who don't, including me.
What are the government's plans for addressing the food shortages which are sure to come as the farmers and ranchers can't produce without adequate water supply?
I will try to locate a map of the fire areas for you. Pretty much the entire state is burning. This is dreadful. My heart goes out to those two brave young men that perished.. These men and women do this dangerous work for nothing. Also thanks America for sending your own firies to help ours. Much appreciated.
Think we need the guys from the USA that fight huge oil fires to come over @Craig Swanson Shame SHAME ...... on our government for expecting / relying on very generous citizens to feed the 100’s of fire fighters Just maybe our PM will take notice after being shamed to return to Australia from a Oversees vacation while our county burns
