Terry's links are a bit closer than mine, though I know Birmingham reasonably well. I lived in Oxford, about 75 miles away, for eleven years and travelled to Birmingham quite a few times. I used to go to a number of courses there, mainly at the VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) training centre in Harborne, one of the leafier suburbs. I also used to go to cricket matches at Edgbaston quite regularly. As Terry says, it's not one of our more aesthetically pleasing cities, though it has its moments. I must confess that I never liked Birmingham beer very much, though it's a great place to have an authentic curry, Birmingham being home to the balti style.

Thanks for the video, Terry. I can relate to Birmingham speech since in my part of the US we have our own way of speaking too.
Yow (Y'all) have a great day.
