Just to let you know, Marie, many young kids today are driven to homes by their parents. But, with many areas of the U.S. still under the Covid 19 thing, I think Trick or Treating may not happen again this year. You are sort of grouping a lot of kids together when talking about phones and notebooks. As for us, we know farm and ranch kids that have livestock and crops to take care of. Very little, to no time to be on a phone or notebook/computer.
Ok, just to give you an example: FFA, 4-H, Little Britches/Junior/High School/Collegiate rodeo. Here in Colorado, up in Wyoming and Montana, Idaho, North/South Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, California and others, including Texas. Ok, back to your Street Party now. LOL So, are you giving "second thoughts" on this Street Party now? Sounds like you could be.
I always had 'second'thoughts but no its not toally out of mind yet. Also that 4H Club is what maybe .0000000.009% of the us kid population involved in that? I guess still better odds than thouse in rural areas who want a dadblame Street Dance'.
I won't beat it to death (but I do love solving other people's problems, since mine are so intractable), but my point was that if the kids out your way don't have the opportunity to dress up for Halloween, then throw your party near (or on) that holiday and give the little ones (and anyone else who cares to) an opportunity to dress up. Make it "costume optional" so folks aren't pressured. Provide candy (have folks bring some) to hand out to the kids. It sounds like you could have a fire of some size out where you live. Let folks set their stuff up ahead of time (and give a week or so to take their stuff home.) They bring their food, you supply drinks and s'mores fixin's and some music.
Good ideas to keep in mind till the weather cools off some. Summer in Florida is like cabin fever in the north.
LOL, yea that may work too. Maybe have a 50's party? May as well dream since its only make beleive for now, another song, remember that one?
