Yeah, mine was a train wreck. I put it off as long as I could, tried just about everything. Finally got surgery a few years back (two level laminectomy centered at L3/L4) and that finally got rid of the extreme, debilitating pain. My surgeon had told me the numbness, loss of some muscle control in my toes, should disappear after 12-18 months or it would not return at all. Unfortunately I waited too long and have some lasting residual damage. He told me after the surgery he was surprised I had waited that long because he said it was very tight in there. Such is life though. Life teaches us a lot of lessons. Unfortunately we only learn some of them after it’s too late to apply our wisdom of experience.

    I'm gathering that
Wish we could carry our SF handle over to here
    It'd make folks more recognizable
    But

    Truer words never typed

I think that's why old guys are so adamant when passing down the lore to the younger set

I wish other forums would use real-looking names, as we do here, instead of silly handles like it is CB radio. "Breaker breaker 409 calling Rubberduck." I am Ms.Fox on SF and Faez on Country and Homesteading.

Thank you @Kate Ellery so much
    Hope to not disappoint
Once I start my diary thread, I'll solicit for any questions, as most folks have a skewed idea of what living in an off grid cabin in the mountains entails

We had a very small example of the same thing between 2004 - 2006 after we sold our home in the city ( suburbs ) Adelaide south Aust , it was just over 2 years latter we moved into our newly built home in a country area
( 2006) where we still live now

I’m Aussie so you may remember me from elsewhere :)

Anyway after we sold our home hubby and I went traveling around Australia for 2 whole years without electricity or water ( didn’t stay in caravan parks ….and baths were in a round plastic dish just big enough to stand in ..that was used for washing clothes / dishes as well ) :)

The van was 16 foot it’s amazing we were still together after living in such limited space for 2 years

    A true test of compatibility
    Same with a 200sf cabin.....in winter
A small cabin gets much much smaller.....

There's a Jeep Wrangler under the 'pretty snow'
and there's a tarp under the snow
It's your only way to get to town (a 100mi round trip)

It's beautiful but I wouldn't want to live there. :) Do you see the snow critter in the first one?
