@Don Alaska I believe that the toxicity of Vitamin D is because it accumulates in your liver, doesn't it? Overdosing on other vitamins rapidly gets peed out of our systems, but not so with Vitamin D. Funny you should mention soil depletion. I deleted my original draft comment of doing tons of research when I quit drinking in 1990 and went on a significant supplement program for quite a long period of time by way of doing bodily pennance. I finally decided that I should be getting enough nutrients through my varied diet and a general supplement, with the proviso that the soil is still in good shape and the produce has not been sitting in a methane warehouse for months (or longer.)
@John Brunner all the fat soluble vitamins can accumulate, but it was once thought to be a significant issue. Most don't believe that today unless you are really wacko about taking high doses. Vitamin D isn't thought of as a vitamin any more, but as a "proto-hormone" since its actions are more hormone-like than vitamin like. They all still accumulate if taken in large amounts. B-vitamins and C are considered to be water soluble and most are excreted if they are not used.
Long Before it was ever thought to be a significant issue, it was known and published in the pharmaceutical books , officially, that the vitamins had no toxic levels . This changed somewhat , not about the natural vitamins, but sinthetic manmade ones. Even they are less dangerous than taking one baby aspirin, but still something to be aware of if taking megadoses for any reason over several months time. Even iron , which is almost the only supplement that has caused serious problems in expecting women and in infants and little children, is only apparently a problem when un-natural iron supplement is used, and possibly also when lacking the balance of minerals and vitamins needed for metabolism properly. It is encouraging to find out that even 10,000 times more used natural supplements are more healthy and totally less dangerous than even one vaccine (which always causes harm). Proper knowledge helps, of course, and is not too hard to find if anyone looks, unless they trust the bad guys (drug makers).
One way to take a healthy person and get them to have shingles, headaches, and cancer is to add things they are allergic to to their diets and to eliminate nutrition as much as possible without alerting them to this .
I went in to my doctor a week or two ago with a weird toe issue (I've got a future podiatrist appointment scheduled.) He did a vitamin screen and it showed elevated levels of B12. I take a multivitamin that has 100 micrograms in it, which pales in comparison to the 1,000 mcg to 5,000 mcg B12 supplements you see on the shelves of the drug stores, so I don't see how that can be causing it. He did liver and kidney function tests (which can cause high levels if their filtering functions are decaying), and those are both OK. It's an odd thing, but I don't know that I've ever been tested for this before. It might be "just the way I am." Or maybe it's because of all the sprouts I've been eating recently. I forgot to mention that to him.
I wouldn't worry to much about elevate B12 levels unless they are extreme. Many of the vitamin level "normals" have been established a too low a level for many decades.
Yeh, it's just slightly over the high range. I asked about getting a complete vitamin panel, but he only did a few things related to that possible nerve issue in my toe. I'm not real concerned...I eat such a varied diet.
I just went to look at the title as I forgot it. "newly diagnosed with vitamin loss" is a paradox or a satire. Meaning this: Since 1940 at least, people have been having, experiencing, and living with severe vitamin deficiencies, on purpose, in line with the system they/we/ live in. If they were told about their vitamin needs, they would recover about 98% of the time, with no worries, no problems, no side effects, no toxicity, and no autism and no shingles and no cancer and no heart disease, basically. Oh, and no high blood pressure. Simple. But they were not told of the real and true vitamin needs (and minerals needed, and enzymes). No, they were given a label instead. A very profitable label. A label that required them, if they stayed with it, to take the drugs specified for the label they were given. They were not ever expected , really, to recover, but the hope (of the system) was that they would stay and remain subject to it, and remain dependent the rest of their life. So, today, if they are told about the vitamin deficiency, and they take what is needed, they recover their own health. If they are not told, or are told wrong, or simply do not stop the toxics and do not take what is needed, then they remain dependent on the system, or die.
