NASA was interviewing professionals to be sent to Mars. Only one could go, and it would be a one-way journey. Despite this stipulation, there were three applicants. First up was a naturalist. Asked how much he wanted to be paid for going, he answered:" A million dollars because I want to donate it to World Wildlife Fund." Asked the same question, the next applicant, a doctor, replied:" Two million dollars. I want to give a million to my family and leave the other million for the advancement of medical research." The last applicant was a lawyer. When asked how much money he wanted for going to Mars, he whispered in the interviewer's ear: "Three million dollars." "Why so much more than the others?" queried the interviewer. The lawyer replied: " If you give me three million dollars, I'll give you one million, I'll keep one million, and we can send the naturalist!"
