Oldest Thing In Your House / Apartment / Flat ?

Discussion in 'Not Sure Where it Goes' started by Mari North, Mar 1, 2016.

  1. I think the oldest item I have is a ring that belonged to my Aunt. It dates back to somewhere around 1935. It means a lot to me- she was my favorite aunt, and I'm probably the only living person who knows the story behind the ring and why it was so important to her.

Having worked in a used bookstore I had several old books from the 1800's. One from 1909, African Game Trails by Teddy Roosevelt. I gave /donated my collection when I moved to my condo. So I guess there're not in my house anymore, huh?

I do have another thing that was my mother's; it's from China and it's used for smoking. It's a wooden thing carved with a dragon winding around it, but not shaped like a pipe. It came to her via a friend who got it during WW2 somehow. I don't know how.
