Here is an omelet from my sister. The main ingredients are sliced cabbage in the style of cole slaw, strips of carrots, potato cubes, sliced cucumbers and of course, eggs. The sautee is a mix of crushed garlic and onions, when partially cooked, add the potato the mix the carrots after a minute and include the cabbage after another minute. The cucumber is added when the cabbage looks cooked. The beaten egg is the finale. For those who love spicy taste, you can add tabasco or a sprinkling of black pepper.
I rarely eat omelets. While cooking at home, there are other breakfasts that I prefer, and in restaurants the egg is always too runny and gross on the inside, the onions are usually raw, and whatever meat in is in there seems to be simply lunch meat that has been cubed.
I actually made one today for brunch. I thought about the potato and soy sauce but was too hungry to wait that long. I had gotten home from morning errands, had to start work at noon... so I made one with sauteed onion, 2 eggs and some blue cheese. Made toast and it was pretty good.
I make omelettes each and every day for my Princess (wife) for breakfast.. 3 large eggs, add a bit of 18% cream, add some dried chives, whisk and into the skillet it goes.. She also has 2 slices of Turkey Bacon to go with that.. On the other hand, I take my 3 eggs and fry them sunny up till almost done and I break the yolk to run and that's it !!!!
When I order an omelet I get the mushrooms, onion, cheese and ham omelet. I don't eat omelets often as I am not a big egg eater. I always have to put salsa on my eggs when I do eat any eggs.
Sheldon.. Perhaps I should start a new thread as I did before.. I was thinking of starting it for the new year, but I will get it going soon...
