Although I will often check prices and availability on eBay before buying something from Amazon, I usually find that the best prices are from Amazon or, even if I can get it slightly cheaper on eBay, the faster delivery service from Amazon will often suck me in.
i have bought a lot of yarn from e bay by bidding on it but the prices now are a little high i buy from e bay shampoo and denture products which save me a lot of money--i always go for free shipping
I've bought yarn on ebay. A couple of yarns they don't make anymore. I look for yarn in thrift shops also. My most favorite is "baby monkey" a polyester fuzzy yarn not made anymore. No other compares to it and I treasure what I have. I got some nice skeins I purchased on Ravelry from a nice lady who was de-stashing some of hers.
Bargain hunting ain't never been easy. Sometimes you either spend your time or spend your money. An extra ten or twenty minutes to save just $10 is worth it to me, but I've saved up to $50 before.
@Neville Telen Yes that's the Baby Monkey yarn. The picture doesn't do it justice. I have some in the off white, pink, blue, dark grey and some mottled colors.
Thanks, I check Ravelry, Ebay and Etsy on occasion. No other of the fluffy type yarns I've seen compare to it. I don't know why they stopped making it. What I need to do is actually use more of what I have. I'm actually afraid to use it because I like the yarn so much.
It's Amazon for everything, including highly specialized items such as model railroad, musical instruments, and astronomical equipment. Hut Hut... Hal
Well, maybe if we can find you more sources, you can get up a surplus, enough to embolden you to use it. I don't knit or whatever, but I only buy products made out of the angora and alpaca stuff...wool makes me itch, and the artificial yarn don't feel right.
I don't pay a lot for clothes, I buy tasteful pretty clothes. Buying cheaper, means I can have more I usually shop the same stores, but if there's something in particular, I google the item Welcome Adam
Hey Patsy, thank you! I think cost performance is the most important for me, I always don't pursue famous brands but good things especially different ones.
Yea - same here I find buying for my husband very difficult though, so much out there for teenagers but trying to find decent stuff for the 'mature' man can be tough @Adam Thunder
Patsy, as I've ever said before, I bought a coat of CWMALLS this year, I find it not bad, though it's not cheap. You can google it, it has many garments for the elderly, some of them are awesome.
