If @Bobby Cole would wisk @Yvonne Smith off for the weekend, we could all totally run amuck on here!!!
When traveling south, out of Maine, I particularly hate the New England states but I am not too crazy about the NYC or the Washington D.C. area either. I wouldn’t want to live in Baltimore but driving it isn’t much of a problem. We are nearing NYC now.
Reading, Pennsylvania, is where we're staying the night. Just over three hours to where we're going tomorrow.
Spent the night in Reading one time. We drove a big part of the next day, he showing me around. Took me to Gettysburg, talked abut that battle, made it sound real. He was a school teacher and judging the time we spent together, I think I could say he was a good one. He made the day interesting, even exciting, then we drove to Philadelphia, where we spent two weeks in management schooling.
We are here in Massanutten. They gave us an older unit that we've had the last two years but it's nice.
My back is much better, although still painful. My mouth still hurts a lot. I cut it on the inside of the mouth and lip and that seems to be slow to heal.
I've been to the ER and to the hospital's outpatient clinic, and they didn't suggest it, but they also assumed it would heal in a few days. It's not just annoying, it hurts, and it's very hard to eat or drink anything, or to talk.
Yeah, that would be just hunky-dory except that our three dogs would highly object to our leaving for more than 3 or 4 hours.
Tomorrow morning, we head back, although there will be a couple of hotel stays along the way. It's been a nice vacation and I didn't work a whole lot while we were here. My oldest brother and my sister-in-law were able to join us here for the past couple of days, as they are on their way from Michigan to Florida. That was nice because we only see one another every decade or two.
My mouth is nearly back to normal, thank you. I credit warm water with salt for that. My back still hurts but it's not debilitating like once was. I just need to be careful with some movements. I'm healing fine, though.
