Very true and women had to try harder to gain respect than a man of equal ability in many jobs at that time, but once that respect was gained by actions, things started to change. I fail to see how today's Hollywood divas are being treated unequal. I personally was never paid less for the same job.
@Yvonne Smith Yes, it all depends on how they were raised. "Never get serious about a man until you see what his mama demanded of him" . My father. After a meal no man in my family plopped his butt on the couch until all the cleaning was done. That included Thanksgiving. We worked together and relaxed together.
Exactly ! My first husband was totally catered to by his mother. She was French/English, and he was the Firstborn Son. when he got up for school, she made his bed, laid out cleaned and iron clothes for him to wear, and then cooked his breakfast while he finished dressing. In his life, the men were king, and the woman waited on them hand and foot. Not having ever dated or been around many other guys, I had no idea that all men were not like my father.
@Yvonne Smith I was sort of making a joke. My dad and oldest some are complete clean freaks like me. But, my apologies to @Bobby Cole for not believing the best.
No apology necessary Bess. With a military background and 2 x-wives, Yvonne got the well trained version of me.
What does Merit have to do with earning Union Scale? Just being on the job site should qualify! Howell
What does union scale have to do with the conversation? No one has mentioned labor unions, but in that case there is more likely to be wage equality.
