@Mary Robi I've seen chicken feet in Asian grocery stores, and a friend from Peru said they eat chicken feet there. I imagine that poverty is the necessity that drives such things across all nations and all cultures. (My favorite Vietnamese noodle soup has tripe in it.) As a kid, I loved liver and the cow's tongue my mother boiled for sandwiches. I have no idea if she brought that liking with her from England, or if it was my father's German roots. Some years later I was at a Bolivian buffet outside of DC and the waitress was explaining the things they offered. They had tongue on the buffet. She was surprised when I told her I grew up eating it here in the states.
I didn't see raccoon on the list. I have eaten all of that stuff but I would not like to eat a few of the items. Not sure I've ever eaten pickled pigs feet but not saying I would not. I kind of like escargot. Sad that I found it used to be available at Walmart. I won't pay the price today. And I LIKE circus peanuts but no longer eat sugar so I can't eat it. Would love to though.
