Ok, wait for it, wait for it, now........sarcastic! Love stand up comedy. Use to watch Last Comic Standing and the newest To Tell The Truth. Have the movies, Last Vegas, Blended and Weekend At Bernie's.

Compared to my wife's previous two husbands, she says I'm hilarious. "Never a dull moment in our home", she also says.

Monty Python and The Far Side are my cup of tea.
Before them it was B.C. comics (I had all the paperbacks) and Mad Magazine.

I find it interesting that the slapstick humor others like I don't find humorous at all, while those folks look at The Far Side and feel the same way.

You may recall the killer rabbit scene.

When Carter was in office, he was out fishing and--of course--had his Secret Service guys with him. There was a story that hit the news about a rabbit his bodyguards had to thwart because it was swimming towards the boat "hissing and in a menacing manner." I was watching my local news, and they said "We have exclusive footage of the event." They then played the end part of the killer rabbit scene!!!

    Cracked me up.

Other: 1-liners, ala Henny Youngman. (for example: "Take my wife....... please!")

    Other: Double entendre (for example:
Farmer Fred: "My cow fell down a hole and I had to shoot it."
Farmer John: "Did you shoot it in the hole?"
Farmer Fred: " No, in the head."

I like humor that needs to be thought about, for an instant, in order to "get it." I can't stand slapstick.

In my Freshman year of high school, I had an intro to music class. The teacher, Mr. Pence, was a favorite of mine. We were listening to an oratorio. He announced to the class: "We're now going to hear from the Castrati, who are usually seeded (sounds like 'seated') at the top of the organ." I burst out laughing, much to the befuddlement of the rest of the class. Mr. Pence then said, "TG, I've been telling that joke for the last ten years. You're the only one who's ever gotten it. I think you're destined to grow up to be a dirty old man!" Yeah, he was right......

Gary Larson is a master of surreal. I didn't appreciate him when I was younger.

I checked 2 or 3 but overall, I like to read satire, hear satire, see it in motion and write it. It’s a given that not all satire is humorous for indeed, John Steinbeck’s “The Pearl” was a serious piece but filled with satire.
The art matches my own personality and at times, my own sense of a somewhat seemingly sarcastic sense of humor.

I like sarcasm when it's a clever play on words.
    I don't like sarcasm when it's a passive-aggressive form of anger.

Have you ever watched the TV series, “House”? It’s a given that many of the statements House makes are meant for a sort of comedic verbal slapstick and I imagine that most of the audience finds them funny. But, if I put myself in the place of the one being spoken to, some of the stuff is humorous but most is downright mean.
That said, I have to admit that the writers are indeed high powered writers in the arena of satire.
