In the woods yesterday. I believe they call it a luna moth (Actias luna), on a young sweetgum tree. It stood out like a sore thumb from a long way off.
Today I got part of my monthly "Subscribe and Save" order from Amazon. It included a box of mini-moos half-and-half shelf-stable coffee creamer. Someone put a sticker over the manufacturer's Use By date and put a NEW date on an expired product. So I took a picture to send to Amazon but they refunded the $$ without needing to see. This is shady, though. I had to scratch off part of the sticker to find what was underneath. Oh, and they gave me my money plus $5 for my "inconvenience."
I opened one and sniffed it; seemed OK but I didn't want to ruin a perfectly good cup of coffee with curdles. So yeah, I tossed it and ordered a fresh box from Costco.
Every year, Mr. Bobby lights up the front porch for the Christmas season, and he puts up lights that change color, and one of those projectors that throws the lights on the ceiling, in the trees, or wherever he wants to aim it. This is a picture of it that I just took tonight when it was at the deep blue color.
I registered my coffee grinder. You take a pic of this symbol and either text it (damn culture has me using nouns as verbs) or email it (there I go again.)
This is what I took with my phone a week or so ago. Just one reason we left Florida and moved back to Colorado! Well, tried to load picture in, but no success. Anyway, picture is of three full-rack Bull Elk grazing in a small field as we drove by. They were very close to the street we were driving on. Absolutely loved seeing them.
Newcomers to one of my flower beds. Hostas are usually here but there is no indication of them. Since 2000 the tree in the center has steadly grown and only produced leaves. I was going to removed it and decided to see what would happen if I let it alone. For the past two years it has produced these pink flowers which last for a while until the leaves begin to grow then they disappear. They have a delightful fragrance. I just love to look at them through the window.
