What do you mean by "done deal"?

Foot doing good. Swelling gone, but still using crutches, wheelchair and sometimes ice pack. Am also wearing a Velcro Foot Stabilizer. Starting next Monday will try walking using a cane. This Saturday will be 4 weeks since I fell.

By done deal I mean you are moving for sure back to Colorado.

Healing is a slow process but seems you're on track and doing well.

We say we are, but moving generally isn't for sure until the moving company is loading furniture into their van. Furniture, etc. will go into storage there until we find an apt.

I need to get some insulation for the outside pipes. I usually wrap them with hand or kitchen towels and tape over them, but I toss them at the end of the season, and now I've run out of towel/rags to use. It'll be a while before we get a freeze, and even then they don't last long, but I still wrap them and leave the towels on all season, especially on the north side of the house. I keep saying I'm going to get some of the film for the windows, but I've yet to do that. I think I'll take a look around for some. I have two space heaters that I use in specific rooms, to take the chill off. I can handle the cold much better than the heat these days, but of course that's because I'm down south, and it's not nearly as cold as what I used to deal with up north.

Ive never wrapped any outside pipes and when I'm gone in the winter my heat is turned off but we don't get below freezing even at night.

Maybe once a year and then the people in ag panic...have fires burning and cover everything with plastic.

We have a few soft freezes every winter. Occasionally, we'll see some snow, or more frequently, ice, but they usually don't stick around for long. I recall when I lived down here before, there was a big ice storm and the main roads were closed, it seemed like for a week. Everything was disrupted, because people had to drive the back roads when they went to work, and it took twice as long.

We had no idea that it can get as cold as it does here! There are days we have to wear a "warm-lined" coat and gloves here and can see our breathe. In Dec. 25, 2010, I got video of it snowing here! I zoomed in on some trees in our apt complex and the snow was definitely coming down, but, thank God, it wasn't sticking. It was Christmas morning and we had just finished opening gifts and I looked out our living room window and could see snow coming down. Got the video camera and filmed it. Snowing in Florida, who would ever think of that happening??? We haven't seen any Winter Parka's for sale here, but there are definitely think lined winter coats and boots sold here. So, Florida isn't nearly as "warm" outside all the time like people say it is. But, then again, some people in Denver "downplay" their winter weather. We seen a lot of snow when we lived in the area. Actually, snow and freezing
temps. Oh well, Colorado has the winters and Florida can have hurricanes, tropical storms and some intense lightning.

This coming Monday AM, the temp will be 35 degrees. Actually, we are going from 80 tomorrow (Saturday) to 62 on Sunday. But, then again, the high in Denver, CO was 80 this past Wednesday and yesterday (Thursday) high was 35 and they got a little snow.

We are supposed to get down to freezing , I think by this weekend; but today it is 76 and sunny. I have been out in the yard and getting the last of the plants that have to come inside for the winter.
Some are already in pots and all I have to do is bring them inside, and other needed to have the extra roots trimmed off and be repotted so they would not be so root bound. Some of them, we plant outside each spring and then dig them back up in the fall and bring them inside for the winter.
I have been digging up the smaller ones, and the large ones will be for Bobby to dig up, and those have to live in a bucket for the winter because they are too large for any of our flower pots.
The orange tree and the lemon tree will be coming in, too; but I think that I will re-pot those next spring because there are 2 oranges on the orange tree and I do not want to disturb it.
For right now, we will just get it all inside, and then I can decide where to put everything once it is in here. I intend to plant some herbs in the aerogarden so we can have fresh basil and maybe chives and dill for over the winter; but the aerogarden planting will not happen until all of the outside work is over and done with for this year.

Even though it's not very cold here in the winter my hubby was always cold and he'd want the thermostat set too high for me...so he always had a heater going in his room and it was hot as hell in there.

I would feel sorry for the hospice workers when they came because I knew they were sweating like pigs.

He wasn't just cold in his later years or when he was dying, it was a constant battle of the thermostat from the day we got married. He'd turn it up...I'd turn it down. Looking back I think that is what we argued about the most.
    Second was his crazy driving.

I'll have to check the weather forecast. The cold front blew in yesterday and overnight, and it's still very breezy out there, although the sun is shining today, and warming things up. I might need to wrap the pipes today if it's going to get down to freezing, but that's unlikely. I found one small towel I can use that came with a piece of furniture I bought, so I have no attachment to it. Now I just need one more and I'll be all set.

We're 71 today but will be in the 60's after today and rain still called for on Sunday the day I'm leaving...if it doesn't change I'll leave very early Monday morning.

I'm all packed and my to do list is done, finished yesterday...so stressfree now. I'm very good at multitasking and once I get going I'm also very fast...so it always takes me less time than anticipated.

Although I did almost burn the house down last night. Put something on the stove and went to do some other things and all of a sudden the smoke alarms are going off. I must remember not to multitask when cooking. :)
