The page I put on this forum is the updated version. The numbers I personally gave are from a previous CDC publication. You’ll see that these numbers are even greater albeit they are still hesitant to say that the vaccines have any culpability in the deaths. Plausible deniability. Reports of death after COVID-19 vaccination are rare. More than 331 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through July 6, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 5,946 reports of death (0.0018%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine. FDA requires healthcare providers to report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS, even if it’s unclear whether the vaccine was the cause. Reports of adverse events to VAERS following vaccination, including deaths, do not necessarily mean that a vaccine caused a health problem. A review of available clinical information, including death certificates, autopsy, and medical records, has not established a causal link to COVID-19 vaccines. However, recent reports indicate a plausible causal relationship between the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and TTS, a rare and serious adverse event—blood clots with low platelets—which has caused deaths.
Ya can lead a human to knowledge but ya can’t make ‘em think. “Door to door vaccine” brings up over 2000 references to her query on Bing alone. So, what’s the problem?
On Bing alone, there are over 2000 references. “Door to door vaccine” How about, Jen Psaki said, door to door and that’ll bring up a bunch more then Biden’s quote on door to door brings up another few thousand. Google has thousands. How about the other main search engines? thousands and thousands! Which one would you like? How about this one from yesterday….
This is the list of ingredients that I also received from our infection control lady prior to getting my shot: What are the ingredients in the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine? – IN.gov I also fact checked the other and got this link: Fact check: COVID-19 vaccines do not contain the ingredients listed in these posts | Reuters I have had both shots and had no issues beyond minor symptoms. I understand that not everyone is the same and that some folks should not or can't take the vax. That's ok. You have to do what's right for you. I do think some people have freaked out over nothing though.
Good references, @Marci Miller but you must realize that most people without extensive background do not know what many of the substances listed are. I'm glad you had no major issues with the vaccines; most people do not have problems with it at least in the near-term. I still think it is a personal decision, but then I think wearing seat belts is a personal decision for adults, so I am weird and a good bit libertarian.
I think the issue is people who think they are smarter than everyone else and too limited in scope of knowledge and too lazy to check sources outside the propaganda stream on either side.
For me, it isn’t so much about being freaked out about not taking it as wishing to know everything possible and be satisfied that I KNOW everything possible about the substance being introduced to my system. Many men here can testify about our military days when in Basic, we were told on multiple occasions that we going to get shots. All in a line like good soldiers, we filed through whilst medics pumped one arm or both arms with some medicinal concoctions with no names but merely told that it was what we had to take. It was blind faith but at least the concoctions were tested for years before they reached our arms in 1967. Of course, the one shot I did know what it was made me sick for several days and that one was ….the flu shot. I haven’t had one since nor has anyone introduced anything else into my biological processes since 1972 unless I knew everything there was to know. I guess the long story short, I will not be TOLD what to do. Let the powers that be go out of their way and at least make an attempt to make it my idea and then we’ll make nice. That said, at the present time it’s going to take someone traveling down a very long road to convince me to make it my idea.
Just as an aside, @Bobby Cole many U.S. veterans contracted Hepatitis C from the "guns" that were used for those mass vaccinations. It was not an identified disease then and could not be tested for--it was known only as Hepatitis non-A, non-B and was diagnosed symptomatically when A and B were ruled out. If you see those ads that say "Baby Boomers should be tested for Hepatitis C" that is what it is referring to. Many Vietnam vets were infected by the shots and brought it home to their loved ones only to be diagnosed decades later, either when they were tested, developed symptoms, or developed liver cancer. Even when you think you know what is in the vaccines, no one knows for certain, but years of testing can help identify issues. Once brought back in the vets, it was also passed on during the Sexual Revolution.
I can certainly understand that. I took my vax not having any idea what was in it or if it would kill me but when everyone around me was getting covid i just decided it was worth the risk. Also at no point in time during this pandemic have I ever felt I was being told what to do. I felt as though we were being given a medical directive to help protect ourselves and nothing more.
And also as an aside, a couple months after I came back from Nam, about 20 of us were told we had to go to a special meeting of sorts. We were shown a pump-up movie to convince us that we wanted to be military / medical test subjects which I very unceremoniously bowed out just before the meeting ended. The motivational movie showed stuff like guys testing arctic weather suits in the antarctic as well as testing stuff like sun blockers in a room with high intensity ultra violet light. The motivational speech afterwards also indicated that we would Not Know what we were to test until after we put our names on the dotted line and after we were brought up to tip top shape and health. Other than the “tip top” health stuff we weren’t guaranteed a promotion, raise in pay or even a hand shake but of course, we were assured that it was our patriotic duty to volunteer. I’m probably overly patriotic but I in no way wanted to come out of a test looking like the elephant man. The presentation was done by civilians in white coats who wanted to use military men for whatever testing they deemed necessary. We were to be human guinea pigs. It sounded like and still sounds like some science fiction movie but nope, they do it and it makes me wonder how many military personnel were “volunteered” to test the CV-19 vaccines.
