@Beth Gallagher Maybe this will help in some way. I think it could apply to a number of SOC members but thinking specially of you.

This saying teaches that even the longest and most difficult ventures have a starting point; something which begins with one first step.

As ever, Beth, wishing for you a triumphant win over all you endured. I never had radiation, so can't give any personal story, but I have heard that targeted radiation is very effective. Still checking up on you and wanting the best outcome. You are amazing in everything but politics! Putting that aside, (((HUGS)))

If well wishes mean anything, you will be as good as gold. Hang in there.

Thanks, Bibbi. If anyone knows how difficult the journey is, it's YOU! Radiation is the third and final mountain I have to climb and it will be easier having so much support from all of you.

Thanks Lu. This has been the Year of Dread for me and I hope the radiation will mop up any random cancer cells so I can put this all behind me. (Except for the every-3-month terror-inducing "followups" for the next 2 years.) I hope things are going well in your life.

@Beth Gallagher yes we all are here for you ! And Bibbi is certainly a living wonderment in all that she has endured- and lived to tell about it. You to will be back on the road to living good again soon.

Tomorrow I will be halfway done with the basic radiation treatment. So far I'm doing OK; my skin is getting a little pink but not hurting. I've had a weird "something stuck in my throat" feeling for a few days that makes it difficult to swallow.

Also having muscle cramps in my chest (radiated) area. Kind of like a charlie horse over my ribs. I mentioned it to my doctor today and she said "that's fairly common." Oh goody.

I have learned that after radiation, hair won't grow in my right armpit. Hmmmm. So today I asked them to radiate the left one so I don't have to shave anymore. They were not amused. :D

Yes, no sense of humor I tell you. They took a fourth of my colon yet didn't even smile when I requested a 25% discount on my follow-up colonoscopies.
