We are still not sure what caused some stalks to be lying on the ground. A neighbor who probably knows corn said that those stalks on the ground would still bear some ears but the kernels may not be palatable anymore. From a visual estimate, there are still more than 50 stalks standing (there are actually 2 areas we had planted, the other area looks just fine) in total. I just hope that there will be no more rains with strong winds for the ears can be harvested in a week or 2. Here is the photo of our corn crop taken this morning...
